Descrição/Abstract
Conservation Areas and their buffer areas are an important source of livelihood for rural populations and their contribution to poverty reduction can be increased. Many CAs and their buffer areas are characterized by high miombo woodland cover and high poverty rates, especially those in the central and the northeast coastal regions of the country, or harbour important marine resources. These woodland and marine areas supply basic needs for large numbers of people whose livelihoods could be improved through various opportunities for the rural poor to move out of poverty.
