Consultation with Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Labour (NSDEL), the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources (NSDNR) and the Nova Scotia Museum (NSM) was conducted to arrive at an appropriate scope of work that would satisfy the requirements of all of the parties involved, with direct regard for the Minister’s requirement for additional information. The scope of work agreed upon by the concerned parties is provided below: · Evaluate the potential impacts of the proposed Highway 113 on moose conservation and human safety concerns. · Conduct a literature review and consult with adjacent jurisdictions to establish standards for mitigation of human/highway safety issues with moose in urban/suburban landscapes.
