In order to achieve the proposed objectives in the Guidance Document an extensive literature review was conducted. For this task documents were collected and analysed to gather information that could support the design and elaboration of the guidelines. Documents that were consulted include existing guidelines developed for Europe, United States, Canada, among other countries (International context). Guidelines and methodologies already developed for the countries of the Rift Valley/Red Sea Flyway and/or neighbouring countries were also included.
